First of all, I couldn't believe that there is so much division in the House in Clifton. It's like a bad episode of Survivor, where Huggins builds everyone a nice snuggly place to stay. Yes the cottage may have some bugs but at least your not sleeping under a tree. The people no longer see the beauty of what he built, they only see the bugs. They quickly join alliances and are now ready to vote Bob Huggins off of the Island.

The Bible teaches us that a house divided cannot stand. Something is going to happen sooner than later, trust me on this one! There is no way Coach Huggins can effectively lead a nationally ranked program, (that he built from scratch) when people other than the president and the athletic director are ripping the basketball program.

Phil Cox is a man of many interest. He is on many boards in the city, he has many established contacts, but his choice of words were juvenile. If Bob Huggins where fired or bought out or simply walked away, then I could see a case for going national with your opinion. But not when your coach is still employed by the university. If you are bold enough to make these comments, at least have the guts to say them to his face. This is just a tactic that he is using in order to frustrate Huggins into leaving.

My sources close to the program tell me that Huggins has had enough. If his staff was well compensated and/or found jobs elsewhere, then Huggins would walk away. However, since the timing of all this drama is so bad, his entire staff has been placed in awkward situations.

"And I have to tell you, as a person who happens to be African-American, there is a concern for anybody who gives the impression that the only athletes you can find may be carrying a gun or face other charges from the police. Other schools find African-Americans who are good students as well. I hope we can do it too." Phil Cox UC Board Chairman

As a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and an African American as well, I was deeply offended that such an educated man would make such an ignorant comment. All of the athletes that have graduated under Huggs are being painted with the brush of racism. I don't agree with his comments one bit. If Mr. Cox was any race other than black, wouldn't this be viewed as racist remarks? Just because your seat is higher up than the ones you look down upon, doesn't mean you have the right to make such statements. However, this is America, and I guess it's okay if it comes from someone that looks like the offended.

Just remember, facing charges and being convicted of crimes are totally different, and someone ought to remind Mr. Cox of that.

Education is not in what you learn, as some will have you to believe, it is in what you can apply. If getting a diploma makes you smarter, then why won't he use his education with a little more discretion.

I AM NOT A THUG! ERIK MARTIN, CORIE BLOUNT, A.D. JACKSON, RUBEN PATTERSON, PETE MICKEL, ARE NOT THUGS! JUNIOR COLLEGE TRANSFERS ARE NOT BAD PEOPLE! Yes we all would like to have a high school All-American sign with us every year, but how many schools have accomplished this? Sometimes when people get a voice that previously were unheard of, they tend to go a little overboard.

I don't have a problem with Mr. Cox, he serves his purpose. But even purpose must be guided by the spirit of wisdom.

Is this the end for Legree?

By Terry Nelson

Could U.C. assistant coach Keith Legree have recruited his last player for the Bearcats? With this latest finding, coupled together with the school's new "zero tolerance" policy, Mr. Legree may have blown his last whistle on the Clifton campus.

In the wake of head coach Bob Huggins' DUI less than a year ago, Director of Athletics, Bob Goin has been placed in a position where he may have no choice but to relieve Keith Legree of his coaching duties.

Of course, there will be some that might mention that since Legree, who ran the offense for Huggins in 1995-1996 season, is black they are going to send a message to the sports community. Will Bob Goin give Legree "time to reevaluate his situation" like Huggins was afforded the opportunity? Or will they drop the hammer and say enough is enough?
Just when the scar around the eye of the UC program has all but disappeared, we get sucker punched...again.

This isn't about the color of the skin, but rather the preference of the beverage. It is naive to think that most Americans that drink alcohol have a designated driver at their disposal. Most bars are not equipped with a "break-in-case-of-emergency" driver available. Every man or woman is responsible for their own actions. The Bible says "the wages of sin is death..." Death in this instance is a separation from the thing he loves most.

I watched the "Big O" on Sportscenter today talk about how first time drug offenders should be banished from the game for life! I wonder what his take is on DUI's. After all, Oscar Robinson is the Godfather of UC Basketball. What he says carries some weight.

Another point to ponder...how does this affect Bob Huggins and his contract status? If Keith Legree is fired, who will Huggins hire? Will it be one of his former players, such as Andre Tate or Erik Martin? How about Keith Gregor? Or will he go outside of "The Family" and bring someone in...AGAIN!

Is the U.C. President ready to blow a gasket? Will the big wallets that make things happen quietly behind the scenes break their long awaited silence or will they speak through the department?

The Bible also talks about "generational curses," how the sins of one man can affect the generations to come until they repent of their sins. The UC Athletic department is not without sin. No one has stepped out and publicly endorsed a no drinking on school property policy for all personnel. Coaches and staff members drink at football and basketball games, sometimes in excess, cheering for the school they love. Then, without hesitation, they hop into their cars and drive home, some slightly intoxicated, others are just one sip away from meeting the porcelain god.

The UC Police direct them to their cars and wish them off as they control the traffic lights. Not one arrest is made, even though they know many are intoxicated. Alcohol is a spirit. Alcohol takes us places we don't want to go, and keeps us longer than we want to stay.

I know Keith Legree, he is as good of a person as you can find. I am sure if he could do it all over again he would have A) slept a little or B) called his wife to pick him up. There have been many Bearcats throughout the years that needed a Mulligan, and Keith is no different. I am just not quite sure if Bob Goin has any more balls in his bag.

UC assistant arrested for DUI

Less than a year after head coach Bob Huggins was arrested for driving under the influence, assistant basketball coach Keith LeGree was arrested on the same charge Wednesday night.

CHILDHOOD EXPOSURE TO MEDIA VIOLENCE PREDICTS YOUNG ADULT AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, ACCORDING TO A NEW 15-YEAR STUDY

Children who Identify with Aggressive TV Characters and Perceive the Violence to be Realistic are Most at Risk for Later Aggression
WASHINGTON - Children's viewing of violent TV shows, their identification with aggressive same-sex TV characters, and their perceptions that TV violence is realistic are all linked to later aggression as young adults, for both males and females. That is the conclusion of a 15-year longitudinal study of 329 youth published in the March issue of Developmental Psychology, a journal of the American Psychological Association (APA). These findings hold true for any child from any family, regardless of the child's initial aggression levels, their intellectual capabilities, their social status as measured by their parents' education or occupation, their parents' aggressiveness, or the mother's and father's parenting style.

Bad Timing for Chaney's Tirade

Chaney's 'hate' ill-timed
The line between deftly pushing the envelope and unwittingly pushing too far can be a very fine one for a college coach who always has fashioned himself first and foremost a teacher.

Too Talented for College?

The biggest story of the prep basketball season has been the remarkable play of guards Monta Ellis and Martell Webster.
